Summary
A 100-foot-high standard oil field derrick stands tall on the campus of Olney Central College in Olney, Ill. The structure was placed there nearly 20 years ago as a symbol of Richland County's contribution to Southern Illinois' rich oil history. Now, though, it could be coming down unless money can be found to make repairs and paint the structure.
