KOKOMO, Ind. - Turning his focus to the economy on his first domestic trip since the midterm election, President Barack Obama on Tuesday said his decision to bail out the American automotive industry last year was the right one.

Obama toured a Chrysler transmission plant and spoke to employees gathered there in his fourth trip to Indiana since entering the White House. He hailed automakers' turnaround as evidence his economic efforts are working and said the reason for his visit is that the plant is now back to operating at full capacity.
