Summary


Key lawmakers said Friday that a draft compromise would allow Indiana's two horse racing tracks to each pay a $250 million fee to install up to 2,000 slot machines.

The proposal would also allow riverboat casinos to pay a $25 million fee to go from a riverboat to a barge, allowing them to build bigger facilities more cheaply. Both the slot machine and casino fees would be put toward immediate property tax relief for homeowners, lawmakers said.
