Back in 2007 when the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau proposed expanding baseball and softball facilities near Wesselman Park, we felt the tourism group was on the right track. But their plan raised some legitimate concerns, especially as to the future of the Par 3 golf course, and it was eventually rejected by Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel.
Now, the bureau is back with a refined and expanded proposal, one that takes advantage of the expected demolition of Roberts Stadium and leaves the golf course in place as a buffer for the valued Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve.See the full content of this document
