Timothy Dodd, an Evansville lawyer well-known as a defense attorney and for his advocacy on behalf of lawyers and judges struggling with addictions and life issues, died Thursday at Deaconess Hospital.

Dodd, 69, was lead defense council in the murder trial of Jeffrey Weisheit, which is scheduled to begin Aug. 16 in Jeffersonville, Ind., where it was relocated after he successfully argued for a change of venue.
