Delay Sought On Epa Ruling

Summary


Indiana is asking for a one-year delay before the Environmental Protection Agency declares Vanderburgh and other counties out of compliance with an air quality standard for short-term exposure to fine particle pollution.

According to a letter by Thomas Easterly, commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, it has been forecast that the entire state is likely to meet the standard by the end of 2009.
