ThursdayOs Courier & Press featured a nice family photograph showing four Lincoln Elementary School children posing for a first day of school portrait. Look at that photograph closely and notice the way that the children are dressed. They are wearing the new casual uniforms required at Lincoln, and they look terrific.

Because Lincoln operates on a year-round calendar unlike most other Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. schools, it started classes on Wednesday. And, we are pleased to report, it is one of a growing number of schools adopting new dress codes that require children to wear casual uniforms. These include khaki or dark pants or shorts; solid-colored shirts with no logos other than the schoolOs; belts, tied shoes, and solid-color socks.
