Back on track after a day's delay for Hurricane Gustav, excitement filled the St. Paul, Minn., Xcel Energy Center as Republicans got down to the business of nominating Arizona Sen. John McCain for president.

"Everybody was kind of on pins and needles over the weekend, waiting for the hurricane to hit. Luckily, the storm calmed down a little bit, and it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone thought," Nick Hermann, Vanderburgh County's Republican Party chairman, said by phone from the convention floor. "So, now everyone's ready to get the convention started."
