Summary
While duck hunting for most has been a dud, the saving grace has been a decent influx of late arriving Canada geese. The big birds arrived just ahead of Christmas and continue to hang around outside refuge areas, giving hunters willing to field hunt reason to rejoice.
Geese currently seem to be everywhere because they aren't cloistered inside refuge areas. They appear to be mainly using waterfowl refuges as short-time resting areas. This bit of vagrancy may be in part due to depleted food stocks due to heavy foraging.See the full content of this document
