Summary


Japanese beetle adults were spotted in the Tri-State over the Memorial Day weekend.

These half-inch long, metallic green and bronze insects feed on more than 300 species of plants. Their favorites seem to be roses, fruit trees (especially the cherry family) and grapes. They also enjoy munching on linden trees, smartweed, soybeans and corn silks.
