Mayor Ready to Renew Credit Local Homestead Set for Fast Action

Summary


Compelled by state law to act quickly, Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel said Wednesday that the city will begin to reinstate Vanderburgh County's local homestead credit next week for 2010.

Weinzapfel said the City Council's finance committee will have a first reading Monday of a resolution to establish the maximum 8 percent local homestead tax credit. On July 13, a public hearing will be held in Room 301 of the Civic Center.
