For me, from Advent to Lent (Christmas to Easter) is the best time of the year, because it encompasses a few of my favorite sacred and secular holidays. Also, itOs the time of the year when many in our nation collectively celebrate, or at least acknowledge and reflect on, our religious history and racial heritage. I refer to it as the OSeason of Love.O

For many, we pause to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We celebrate Black History Month, ValentineOs Day and Easter. This for me represents all the positive aspects of my life: my Christian faith, my African-American heritage, my love for family and friends, and the security of my eternal existence with God.
