City Plans Sewer Takeover Private Utility Owes $196k

Summary


After being stopped dead by a lawsuit, the Evansville Water & Sewer Utility's plan to take over a privately owned sewer system is beginning to gain momentum again.

Members of the utility board said last week that they have no legal reason to take control of a sewer system owned by Old State Utility Corp., a private firm. Still, they said they feel a moral obligation to prevent the 150 houses connected to the system from going without sewer service.
