No Place Like These Homes Tour's Traditional Houses Have Distinct Charms

The five homes selected for this year's annual Philharmonic Guild Homes of Note house tour, scheduled April 25, have a number of things in common but there is one very important thing that sets each one apart from the others: Although all were built between 1928 and 1950, when Evansville's landed gentry were seeking refuge in the suburbs of the East Side, each of the homes is architecturally unique.

What the homes have in common includes a lifetime of loving care by their owners. Owners who, over the decades consistently have exercised thoughtful attention to detail as they renovated, updated, redecorated and, in recent years, made their homes comfortable by 21st century standards while paying homage to the integrity of the original structures.
