About nine months ago, Vectren began distributing electricity from a wind farm in northwest Indiana.

Now the company is asking Indiana regulators for permission to buy power from a second group of wind turbines in the same area. Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana wants to take about 50 megawatts from the Fowler Ridge wind farm, being built in Benton County, northwest of Lafayette. If approved, the deal would provide enough electricity to power 15,000 homes a year.
